PREPARATION ••• I’ve always been a master at stashing things everywhere so I don’t have to remember them, they’re always just there. So, I keep reusable bags and cutlery in my purse and keep a crate of goodies in my car. This way when I take a spontaneous trip to the store, I’m all set! ••• Items in my car crate: - more reusable bags - more cutlery - empty water bottle - reusable leftover container - rags (just in case I decide to be messy, which is likely🤷🏼‍♀️) ••• What items do you never have when you need them? Just stash them!

Excited for the day that I can buy everything in bulk at a reasonable price ••• Currently, I have many options to buy in bulk. I am very lucky to have the options that I do have to buy in bulk, however, where the problem lays is that buying some key items in bulk can actually be much more expensive than buying them packaged. This seems to be contradictory to this package free, brandless way of consuming however it is true. • I look forward to the day that buying in bulk is economical and available for everybody (including me - college student over here 🙋‍♀️) Until then, small steps add up to big changes. Do what you can and do not beat yourself up if you buy something packaged. ••• Items I have found to be cheaper in bulk: - teas - spices - oatmeal - soaps - cooking oils - coffee ••• Have you found bulk items to be more or less expensive than packaged? What are your thoughts?

SPRING CLEANING 🍊🍋🍊 Try making your own natural ingredient, citrus cleaner There’s two ways how: 1) soak citrus peels in vinegar for 2 weeks. Add in a few drops of Citrus Fresh EO to cut down the vinegar smell. Add 1 part vinegar with 1 part water and clean away! 2) simmer vinegar with citrus peels and Citrus Fresh EO for 1-2 hours. Add 1 part vinegar mix with 1 part water and clean away! 🍊🍋🍊 Try this chemical free citrus cleanser while cleaning up around the house this spring! Full recipe on the website! ••• What other ways do you make cleaning more sustainable?

EASTER EGG COLORING ••• Try coloring your own eggs instead of plastic eggs this year! ••• This year we went for the common household, natural items mixed with water and vinegar! Heres what I used: - Dark Brown: 1 cup of coffee with 2 tsp vinegar - Mustard Yellow: 1 tbsp turmeric mixed with boiling water and 2 tsp vinegar - Light Orange: 1 tbsp paprika and a dash of cayenne pepper boiling water and 2 tsp of vinegar - Grayish Blue: 1 cup of boiling hibiscus tea steeped for 5 minutes and 2 tsp of vinegar- if using bags, use 3-4 bags - Light Yellow: simmer dill weed and the peel to at least 1 orange in boiling water, strain and add 2 tsp of vinegar There are other mixtures you can use to make more vibrant blue and greens such as skins of onions (green) and red cabbage (blue) but I didn’t have them around the house. I let them soak all night and dried without rinsing them. They might not be as vibrant but it was fun mixing up the concoctions and saving the plastic! • Save this post for when you’re coloring your eggs this year! Which one do you want to try?
